In September, we will be offering show handling/conformation classes for both beginner and experienced handlers in our new, larger location!

Our new show handling classes will be taught by John Diaz. John has been showing and handling dogs for over 15 years, and his involvement in training and raising dogs goes back to his childhood when his family bred and raised Dobermans. John is currently working towards becoming an approved AKC judge for Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

John was a founding member of the Northeast Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club and has served as both President and Vice President of the club. He is currently the NESBTC’s Membership Chair. John has helped organize the NESBTC breed booth at the AKC Meet the Breeds event at NYC’s Javits Center for several years, and has also served as Show Chair, organizing the club’s conformation show in Long Island for five years. As an active member of the NESBTC, he has also participated with other club members in hosting or supporting events that promote responsible dog ownership. He has also been a member in good standing of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of America for over a decade. John assisted with training classes at Title Shot Kennels for two years.

John has had the following judging assignments as a sweepstakes judge:

SBTCA Area 5 Regional Specialty, Las Vegas, NV 2014
Great Western Terrier Association, Long Beach, CA 2013
Northern California Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club’s Stafford Extravaganza, Fresno, CA 2012

He has owned, bred, and/or shown the following champions:

I recently purchased my fourth dane, and he is stunning. I want to see if showing him is an option…if he has the temperament, I have the talent, etc. I don’t know how to even begin, and Great Danes are not prevalent on Long Island, so I don’t have much support there. HELP
